Brothers and Sisters of the World

Take a moment today and remember that human is human, wherever you may be in the world. Whatever stance or view or bullshit politics there are, remember beyond a group of people making decisions that there are a vast amount of people with no say caught in the crossfire of decisions they were not at liberty to make. Lives changed forever in the blink of an eye, no matter where you sit, how comfortable you are, remember the brothers and sisters of the world who do not know the peace you have anymore. Direct your energy into hopes and prayers for them rather than arguing amongst yourselves about petty things that in the grand spectrum are useless and pointless.

I have spent the last few days shedding many tears over people, especially children I have never met. I have looked into the face of my children understanding the gravity of the situation for others their age, a different reality. I am grateful for the safety and comfort my children have but my heart breaks for the ones who do not have it and yes I know that people suffer all year under many circumstances, I never forget that. Beyond the ones who are arguing amongst themselves right now, there are those of us who are empathetic, who grieve with and for others. I am sending and will continue to send, every bit of energy I can to be with those who are hurting right now. I wish the world was different, I wish that things could change for the better as quickly as they can for the worse.

I was born and raised in the smallest of towns in Southwest Virginia. A town that is extraordinarily active, yet a town that is like it's very own little mini Bible belt. My dad was Baptist, my mom pentecostal, and I'm paranormal. I would venture to say it is somewhat of a family trait. One that is met with equal acceptance and curiosity as much as it is met with skepticism. Individually and collectively so much has been experienced and witnessed at times to such a degree that one might wonder how on earth there is room for doubt. I dont have all the answers, I do not have it all figured out. Im as human as everyone else relying heavily many mornings on a lot of coffee and a little Jesus. In fact, I can't decide what I want for dinner most days. One constant is I cannot go a single day without chocolate. Pour a cup of coffee, or a little tea and whiskey and join me in my confessions of a haunted freak.
