All Hearts Are Human

Every heart beating inside every human being is capable of love, of feeling hurt and happiness. There is no skin tone for hearts, there is no superior background or part of the world. There are only human hearts all capable of being both great things and inconceivable things. We are all human. Every single person on this planet is capable of becoming the things we love or hate and it is important to remember that when someone stumbles and makes mistakes, let us forgive them because one day you may be the one in need of forgiveness.

While despite our greatest efforts we can not walk a mile in someone else’s shoes especially when their path has tread upon us and we feel only the hurt and pain their steps have caused. I believe that no two people in this world think exactly alike, their brains and hearts do not process the same and so you see, it is hard to know what motivated another even when the circumstances can be mostly the same. Take a written passage and ask others to interpret it for you and you will have countless meanings all from the same words.

There are exceptions, of course, to everything and there are those in this world that are consumed and motivated by hatred who do unspeakable things. For those who harm for pleasure, I say good riddance, but as for most of us remember to be kinder and to soften your words and tone because you do not know what they may be going through. At any given moment there are people losing someone, greiving death, and their is new life being celebrated and sometimes both happening at once. Think not only of your struggles but treat others as they have their own.

I was born and raised in the smallest of towns in Southwest Virginia. A town that is extraordinarily active, yet a town that is like it's very own little mini Bible belt. My dad was Baptist, my mom pentecostal, and I'm paranormal. I would venture to say it is somewhat of a family trait. One that is met with equal acceptance and curiosity as much as it is met with skepticism. Individually and collectively so much has been experienced and witnessed at times to such a degree that one might wonder how on earth there is room for doubt. I dont have all the answers, I do not have it all figured out. Im as human as everyone else relying heavily many mornings on a lot of coffee and a little Jesus. In fact, I can't decide what I want for dinner most days. One constant is I cannot go a single day without chocolate. Pour a cup of coffee, or a little tea and whiskey and join me in my confessions of a haunted freak.

  1. True true – you don’t always know who’s going through a hard time, and the Pain that’s behind someone’s malevolent behavior. Even people we are very close to but in those time we fail to empathize with them for whatever reason. We forget, we are distracted, or callous. Empathy is like a prayer or mantra that must be rehearsed. I quote Atticus Finch from “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “You never understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”
