Try, Try Again

Have you found that place yet where your art, heart, expression fit yet? It’s okay to let it go temporarily, but don’t stop going back to it. What makes your heart glow, what do you enjoy and love sharing with others? Is it your words, thoughts, do you express it with paint or a pen, do you make videos with your artistic expression, are you more direct and speak to people via videos? If you keep going back to it, it’s worth going back to. Art comes from so many places of inspiration for some of us it grew from a place of necessity stumbled upon as a coping technique only to discover hidden talent and passion.

It’s so hard not to let the hardships of artistic expression destroy your hope and desire. It may take years to find the place and people who long for that picture you painted, or the words that flow from the depths of your soul that quenched a thirst they had for acknowledgment and understanding. A human connection is created through common beauty or common pain. A whisper was finally heard in the echo of a crowd, a light for someone to find their way. Comfort to an aching soul. How beautiful is to be the bringer of that for someone? To touch another who was feeling lost and alone. It is frustrating to feel as if your words or expression are lost on deaf ears but maybe someone is listening, a single person tuned into your frequency and became inspired too. Don’t quit sharing yourself no matter how pointless it seems. We can not always see the places that are light shines.

I was born and raised in the smallest of towns in Southwest Virginia. A town that is extraordinarily active, yet a town that is like it's very own little mini Bible belt. My dad was Baptist, my mom pentecostal, and I'm paranormal. I would venture to say it is somewhat of a family trait. One that is met with equal acceptance and curiosity as much as it is met with skepticism. Individually and collectively so much has been experienced and witnessed at times to such a degree that one might wonder how on earth there is room for doubt. I dont have all the answers, I do not have it all figured out. Im as human as everyone else relying heavily many mornings on a lot of coffee and a little Jesus. In fact, I can't decide what I want for dinner most days. One constant is I cannot go a single day without chocolate. Pour a cup of coffee, or a little tea and whiskey and join me in my confessions of a haunted freak.
