Can you relate to a hedgehog?

I moved this adorable guy into his bigger home this week.  I have been trying to win him over with apple slices and mill worms.  We are making progress albeit slow.  Things take time and even hedgehogs have their own personality and free will at play. This little guy exudes so much soul despite his anti-social ways.  Really, I can not blame him, snuggling up in a blanket is pretty cozy and well people can be overrated.  I imagine when he began his journey to a home in a pet store he encountered countless annoying humans, probably doing that super annoying thing like tapping on the window. I am sure from his perspective we are just loud giants. I wonder if we smell weird to them? I just want to hug him but he is kind of spikey. Well, at least I can not love him to death like Lennie in Of Mice and Men. Special agent Gibs is a prickly and amusing addition to the family, even the cat approves. I just want to eat and sleep too.

I was born and raised in the smallest of towns in Southwest Virginia. A town that is extraordinarily active, yet a town that is like it's very own little mini Bible belt. My dad was Baptist, my mom pentecostal, and I'm paranormal. I would venture to say it is somewhat of a family trait. One that is met with equal acceptance and curiosity as much as it is met with skepticism. Individually and collectively so much has been experienced and witnessed at times to such a degree that one might wonder how on earth there is room for doubt. I dont have all the answers, I do not have it all figured out. Im as human as everyone else relying heavily many mornings on a lot of coffee and a little Jesus. In fact, I can't decide what I want for dinner most days. One constant is I cannot go a single day without chocolate. Pour a cup of coffee, or a little tea and whiskey and join me in my confessions of a haunted freak.
