Sometimes you will find yourself weathered and tired from a storm that has been raging in your life for too long. You will stand for a time in the aftermath, trying to find something to cling to. Trying to make sense of the chaos and trying to understand the whys, but it isn’t about the mess, the mess has already happened. It is now only about what you do with the mess that matters. Do you cling to as much as you can, and rebuild with it? Do you see what is left or do you only see what is gone? Your perspective will influence what you do next. Do you start over completely and leave it all behind or do you rebuild with what is left? The truth is it will depend on the situation some things aren’t meant to be salvaged. Some things, like people, are only meant to be a small part of your journey in lessons and they aren’t meant to stay the course. Sometimes you need to remember how to navigate on your own and rely on yourself again and believe in yourself. Maybe you forgot what you were capable of, maybe you never knew and maybe it is time to learn. There is always a reason. Sometimes we have to start over because there is something we are meant to do or experience that has a significance we cant see and if we continued on our way as we were what needed to happen wouldn’t. We leave ripples in our wake every single day more than we even understand. Interactions with others, a small thing we did, and it ripples on out making differences we may never know about. Sometimes I think we see ourselves far smaller than our impact truly is lying to ourselves that we are insignificant, but maybe that isn’t so. You may end up being more significant to a person or chain of events you could never imagine. Everything is connected after all and even if you think you are not a link in that chain your impact on one person may branch out to more and then more and then more.
Just Some Thoughts

I was born and raised in the smallest of towns in Southwest Virginia. A town that is extraordinarily active, yet a town that is like it's very own little mini Bible belt. My dad was Baptist, my mom pentecostal, and I'm paranormal. I would venture to say it is somewhat of a family trait. One that is met with equal acceptance and curiosity as much as it is met with skepticism. Individually and collectively so much has been experienced and witnessed at times to such a degree that one might wonder how on earth there is room for doubt. I dont have all the answers, I do not have it all figured out. Im as human as everyone else relying heavily many mornings on a lot of coffee and a little Jesus. In fact, I can't decide what I want for dinner most days. One constant is I cannot go a single day without chocolate. Pour a cup of coffee, or a little tea and whiskey and join me in my confessions of a haunted freak. View more posts
