Shout Out To My MOM and all MOMs

Hey You, you don’t get told this often enough, thank you. Thank you for everything you do. The world wouldn’t be the same without you. You are amazing. I know some of you didn’t have the same journey into motherhood and I know some of you are on that journey with your fur babies. I want to say to all of you moms out there who no longer have your children in this world, that in is an unimaginable pain, I love you, I am sorry for your loss. To those of you that lost your children during pregnancy, I know you think of them often and imagine what they would have been like, my heart breaks for you. This day is particularly hard for you, please take care of yourself.

I want to say thank you to the moms out there who are taking on the role of mom and dad, I see you, you are incredible. Being a mom is hard, whether or not you are on the journey all alone or if you stay at home or you work, they both have their challenges and you rise to the occasion. It doesn’t matter if you do it gracefully or not, you might struggle, but you are still awesome. Moms make a lot of sacrifices in their lives, from big to small and they will do it regardless of how old their children are. We as moms want to watch our children grow and aim for them to become adults that in their journey in life will leave the world better than it was when they came into it. Greatness isn’t always something you do, sometimes it is someone that you raise. You may be just a mom to the rest of the world, but you may be raising the person who changes the world, someone who created the cure for cancer. You don’t know maybe their child will do it. See, don’t diminish your worth by saying just a mom. Moms are warriors, have you seen a birth? Tell me that isn’t some kind of primal greatness. You are amazing, you grew an entire human being. Some of you breezed through pregnancy and others crawled your way through it sick the entire time, having complications. Some of you gave birth naturally and some of you were rushed into an operating room, others of you waited years and jumped through countless hoops to bring a child into your home to love and care for. All of you are great. Thank you for all that you are, all that you do, and all of the sacrifices you make, we wouldn’t have a world without you, no really there were be no more children, and even if we found a way to make them, who would care for them, and guide them, you teach them and through you, they learn nurturing and kindness, love, and everything in between, sure some dads, are good at it, but moms are built different, ya know? Children are the future and you are raising them. Thank you, I appreciate you. Have a wonderful day, you deserve it.

I was born and raised in the smallest of towns in Southwest Virginia. A town that is extraordinarily active, yet a town that is like it's very own little mini Bible belt. My dad was Baptist, my mom pentecostal, and I'm paranormal. I would venture to say it is somewhat of a family trait. One that is met with equal acceptance and curiosity as much as it is met with skepticism. Individually and collectively so much has been experienced and witnessed at times to such a degree that one might wonder how on earth there is room for doubt. I dont have all the answers, I do not have it all figured out. Im as human as everyone else relying heavily many mornings on a lot of coffee and a little Jesus. In fact, I can't decide what I want for dinner most days. One constant is I cannot go a single day without chocolate. Pour a cup of coffee, or a little tea and whiskey and join me in my confessions of a haunted freak.
